Motaung: VV must win or go

Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs top brass are losing patience with coach Vladimir Vermezovic's failure to earn some silverware, saying they are prepared to replace him with someone more capable.

Vermezovic is meeting with Chiefs decision-makers Kaizer and Bobby Motaung on Thursday, where he will have to plead his case as to why they are fourth on the PSL table and without a trophy this season.

Bobby Motaung told Business Day: "He (Vermezovic) knows his job is based on the success of the team as a coach.

"If the team is not achieving things and is not succeeding, it is normal that we would part ways with the coach. You do not need to be a magician to pick that one up.

"After being with us for three years, he knows the pressures that come with him producing the results."

Vermezovic is aware of the pressure on his shoulders, but says he is not paying attention to the rumours in the media about who is lining up to replace him at the helm of the Glamour Boys.

The Serbian tactician said: "My contract expires in June and everything is my agent's hands now.

"I know that to be part of a big club like this one without winning any trophies is difficult. But of course I would like to stay (at Chiefs) and SA is a very nice country.

"I have read in the newspapers that other coaches are interested in my job. But in this job anything is possible and I will not take it personally. It is normal that Chiefs will want to interview other people and it does not concern me at all."
