Motale tips Pirates for final spot

Johannesburg - Ahead of their tough CAF Confederation Cup semi-final second leg clash against Al Ahly of Egypt this weekend, former Orlando Pirates captain Edward Motale is optimistic that the Soweto giants have what it takes to exit Cairo victorious.

Pirates will lock horns against the Red Devils at the Suez Army stadium in Cairo on Sunday.

The Buccaneers are one game away from reaching yet another final of the continental competition after defeating Al Ahly of Egypt 1-0 in the semi-final first leg encounter at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday, thanks to a well taken strike by Thamsanqa Gabuza.

The 1995 CAF Champions League winning skipper also hinted that the Sea Robbers are currently unstoppable and he doesn’t doubt the fact that they will overcome all the odds and go all the to clinch the title and bring it trophy home.

“They have been doing exceptionally well in this competition.” Motale told Sport24.

“I definitely think they will also do well in the second leg in Egypt.

“They have a good record against Al Ahly at their own backyard.

“They have managed to beat them 3-0 in Cairo in the Champions league two years ago and they can still do it again.”

“And they will go all the way to win the title because they have been doing well so far.”
