Sundowns have won four of their last five Premiership
matches and continue to put pressure on current league leaders Kaizer Chiefs,
who are now just 11 points ahead of Bafana Ba Style in the standings.
The most recent assignment for Sundowns was against Free
State Stars at the Charles Mopeli Stadium, where the defending champions walked
away with a 2-0 win, much to Mosimane’s delight.
“I just want to acknowledge and really praise the support I
have around me from the technical team,” he said.
“The goalkeeper coach has worked very hard with [Denis]
Onyango to be brave and have confidence to put him in there.”
Sundowns played almost 30 minutes of the match against Ea
Lla Koto with just 10 men and managed to emerge unscathed despite this.
Mosimane said a considerable amount of that had to do with tactical decisions
made, in consultation with his technical team, on the day.
“I want to congratulate and also praise my assistants
Rhulani Mokoena and Manqoba Mngqithi, they played a big role in helping me with
the substitutions when we were 10 against 11," he added.
“But above that, we were a little bit down.
“I was struggling a little bit after the Wits game and I
never touched the team, I never coached or trained the team, I only made
tactical awareness yesterday and today, so it shows the support I have from
“It's not about me, it's about people around me.”
