Mosimane feeling confident

Johannesburg - Mamelodi Sundowns boss Pitso Mosimane is confident that his side have what it takes to secure the Premier Soccer League title.

According to the soccerladuma website, the Brazilians currently hold a five-point lead over second-placed Kaizer Chiefs who have a game in hand over the leaders. With Sundowns having just two league fixtures remaining, they're sitting pretty as the season finale draws near.

“We have worked hard and it is to our advantage that we are in the lead on the league table with just two games remaining," commented Mosimane.

"We are not looking at other teams but our own. Indeed the defending champions have slipped up and given us a chance to have a go at the league. We are grabbing this opportunity with both hands. We are on nine matches without a loss and we are looking to make it eleven on the trot.

"I believe that the boys can do it and we will give it a go. It is important to stay grounded and keep focus. If we stay humble and demand respect on the pitch as we have been doing, then good things will come our way."

Despite their position of ascendancy, Mosimane admits there could be further twists in the tale.

"It is not over until the fat lady sings," he commented."I did say a few weeks ago that someone would have the last laugh, I still commit to that comment. Someone will have the last laugh."

Sundowns face SuperSport United at home next up, before ending their campaign with a trip to Maritzburg United. Chiefs, meanwhile, host Free State Stars on Wednesday before making the short trip to the University of Pretoria. Amakhosi will do battle with AmaZulu on home soil on the final day of the season.
