Mamelodi Sundowns failed to secure a top eight finish on the Absa Premiership table, following a rather lackluster 2012/13 PSL campaign.
Downs were held to a 2-2 draw by Wits on the weekend, on the final day of the 2012/13 league campaign, which saw them finish the season with 39 points and in 10th place.
Coach Pitso Mosimane, who took over from Johan Neeskens midway through the season, has since told the Siya crew that they will be looking to reinforce the squad for the new campaign with the aim of challenging for silverware.
Mosimane said that he will be targeting their striking department, with a view of adding a quality forward to their roster.
“We have to reinforce next season starting with the striking force. You can see that we create a lot of scoring chances but we can't score. So what we need first is to reinforce the striking department then look at what else we can add," the former Bafana Bafana coach said.
However, the coach would not reveal which strikers they are assessing. “We can't say now. We will have a briefing where we will announce which players we have signed, and not now, but when the team is right,” Mosimane concluded.
