Mosimane: Red card cost us

Johannesburg - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane believes that his side controlled the game despite their 1-0 loss to Moroka Swallows on Tuesday night.

According to the soccerladuma website, the former Bafana Bafana tactician admits that the result was fair, after they saw Method Mwanjali sent off for a foul on David Mathebula in the area - which allowed Siyabonga Nomvethe to slot the winner from the spot.

Mosimane believes that if they had kept a full complement of players for the 90 minutes, the result would have been different though.

"We controlled the game from the beginning to the end. What more do you want? We were just unfortunate with the penalty - I think it was a penalty - but we need consistency," he said, in reference to previous decisions that had not gone his way.

"I had a penalty against Golden Arrows - I'd also like to benefit. Maybe the third time I will benefit.

"It was a good game, we controlled it. Swallows was never there. Sometimes it is unbelievable, you see players falling over, don't want to play - where is the fair play. Ten against 11... play football. With 11 vs 11, I would never have lost this game.

"We have character. What a team. We don't sit back, we go on, we created chances."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
