Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is convinced Katlego
Mphela still has plenty to offer South African football, despite his
uninspiring performances this season.
According to the Football411.com website, the South African made the move from Sundowns to Kaizer Chiefs in
January, but has yet to register a goal for the Soweto giants, raising
question marks over whether he can still cut it at the top level.
Mosimane, though, believes it has been a case of bad luck, rather than
lack of quality, that has seen the forward struggle, but the former
Bafana Bafana coach is convinced the 29-year-old will come right next
term.
"Killer is important; he nearly scored against Platinum Stars, he nearly scored against Wits," Mosimane told Kick-Off.
"He is always about to score. He is not scoring; he hit the post and all
those things. He is a little bit unfortunate, but I still believe he's
still got more to offer. "
The coach added: "I love Killer; he is my boy and he knows it. It’s just
that he is on the other side and we have to move on; maybe I would have
done the same if I was in his shoes."
