Cape Town - SuperSport United midfielder Michael Morton believes the mid-season break levelled the playing fields as they prepare to face Kaizer Chiefs.

"Of course it will be tough, Chiefs have done very well, but I feel the break evened things out," said Morton on the clubs official website.

"Games are coming in quick succession. Playing three games in a week isn't as tough on the body in mid-season as it is when you return from a break, the body has been taking a battering.

"We have also traveled quite a bit which is not ideal, but we have everything we need, the club is run very professionally.

"We have been scoring a lot, but we are eager to keep another clean sheet. We are confident we can score every game, but keeping it tight at the back is key."

In head-to-head stats, SuperSport and Chiefs have met in 48 league matches since 1990.

Matsatsantsa have 18 wins compared to 17 for Amakhosi, while 13 matches have been drawn.

SuperSport have won seven of their 23 home matches against Chiefs, suffering seven defeats in the process.

When the teams met earlier this season, goals from Mandla Masango and Kingston Nkhatha took Amakhosi to a 2-0 home win.
