Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town forward, Tashreeq Morris, remains confident he will recover in time to feature for the Urban Warriors this season after undergoing a knee surgery two months ago.
The 21-year-old forward was injured in the Nedbank Cup final where Ajax lost to Mamelodi Sundowns in a penalty shoot-out.
He has now revealed that the doctors have told him that his injury will take 6-8 months to heal which has totally ruled him out for the rest of the first round.
“Look, I had surgery done on my knee two months ago and will be out for the first round of the season, but I will still play this season,” Morris said.
“I think I will be back like second round of the season so my chances of me playing this season still look good.
“Well, the doctor said it’s around six to eight months that I will be out, but so far things are looking good for me.
“My rehabilitation is going well and the physiotherapist are taking care of me and hopefully and hopefully will be back soon,” he said.
The young striker impressive performance last season also won him the Nedbank Cup Young Player of the Tournament.
