Moriri refusing to give up

Pretoria - Veteran midfielder Surprise Moriri admits that he is eager to get back into the Mamelodi Sundowns first team in the current campaign.

The 35-year-old midfielder was utilised as a substitute throughout last season but Moriri believes that he still has what it takes to be a regular starter for the Brazilians.

The Matibidi-born attacker, however, hinted that he is working extremely hard at training with the rest of the squad but the the final decision on his involvement remains up to coach Pitso Mosimane.

“I’m training very hard with the boys.” Moriri told Sport24.

“And everything is going very well up so far."

Moriri says that he will continue working extremely hard in order to be ready to take his chance when he is handed his Sundowns chance.

“I don’t know when that would be but only the coach knows that.

“But for me to do is to keep myself fit.

“I believe that I still have a lot to offer the club and I am patiently waiting for that moment.”

Moriri featured in the Mamelodi Sundowns team that defeated the Nedbank Ke Yona team 2-0, courtesy of Katlego Mashego brace, at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday.
