Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns veteran midfielder Surprise Moriri believes there is no clear favourite to clinch the Premiership title this season.
According to the former Bafana Bafana international a number of clubs have stepped forward to challenge the perennial contenders Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.
Wits and SuperSport United have invested heavily in strengthening their squads, with pundits viewing the aforementioned duo among those who will challenge for league honours.
"This season is going to be very tough because all of the teams have beefed up their squads as they want to do better than last season," Moriri told Soccer Laduma.
"There are going to be more than three contenders for the league title this season. We have to make sure that we get ready and do the job this season."
Meanwhile, Sundowns goalkeeper Denis Onyango has called for calm after their second defeat of the season - a 2-1 loss to Golden Arrows at the weekend.
"If you looked at the way we played we could have easily won the game but it was not just our day," he added.
"We did everything that we were supposed to do for us to win the game but we could not. It was so sad and bad that we lost and we have to go back and plan for the next game."
