Moleko: I need more games

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs defender Kgotso Moleko feels he struggled to impress against Maritzburg United, despite finishing the Telkom Knockout encounter with the man-of-the-match award.

The full-back was handed a rare start in the last-16 clash against the Team of Choice, with regular first-choice Siboniso Gaxa missing out through suspension.

Moleko went on to produce a sterling display to take home the match ball as Amakhosi won 1-0, but feels he could have done better.

"It was a tough game for me actually,” said the 25-year-old.

“I've been out for long and I'm not match-fit but with my team-mates, they have been helping me, especially the senior players, saying I must play simple and go forward.”

"First half I was struggling actually. I am just waiting for my chance, for the coach to give me the chance of playing week in week out but the guy I'm fighting the position with [Gaxa] is playing well so I can't complain."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
