Mokoena has no 'Downs regrets

Cape Town - Lebohang Mokoena insists he made the right decision to join Mamelodi Sundowns after seeing his career stall at Chloorkop.

The 28-year-old winger has struggled to make an impact at  since joining the club from Orlando Pirates in 2009.

However, "Cheeseboy", as he is nicknamed, says he has no regrets and feels there are mitigating circumstances for the manner in which his performances have no quite lived up to expectations.

"I do not regret joining Mamelodi Sundowns," he told Soccer Laduma.

"People should understand that the two teams play a different type of football.

"At Pirates we used to play a strictly 4-4-2 formation and at Sundowns I had to adapt to different formations."

Mokoena is contracted to Sundowns until 2016 and has in the past been linked with Orlando Pirates.
