Mobara praises veterans' role

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town defender Abbubaker Mobara has spoken highly of his more experienced team-mates for their role in helping the club keep up in the title race.

The Urban Warriors are currently sitting in second place after Q1 and look like serious challengers for honours in the league this season.

Mobara believes things could have been tougher for the young Mother City outfit without the experience of the likes of Dominic Isaacs, Franklin Cale, Granwald Scott, Lance Davids and Nazier Allie in the squad.

"A lot of us are young and still need experience, but the more senior players around us help...guys that have been playing more than 10 years in the top leagues," the rising Ajax star told the PSL website.

"With the experience behind us, with Scott in the middle, with Nazier Allie and the likes, it should be easier for us.

"Without them, this team wouldn't be performing the way it is now, without their experience, we could still be fighting relegation."
