Mngomezulu warns Cosmos teammates

Cape Town - Jomo Cosmos lost 2-0 to Ajax Cape Town in the ETV Charity Showdown yesterday after conceding from two defensive errors and Sipho Mngomezulu has reportedly warned his new teammates against making such mistakes in the PSL.

Sport24 spoke to goalkeeper Sherwin Naicker who made some good saves on the day but could do little to prevent the two goals and he said that Mngomezulu, who recently signed from Moroka Swallows, has spoken to the team about the need to limit mistakes in the PSL.

“It was exciting and I guess a bit nervous for some of the guys who haven’t played in the PSL but overall I think we did well, we created more clear-cut chances than them,” Naicker said.

“In the NFD you can make a mistake and get away with it, in the PSL it is not so easy.

“We made two crucial mistakes, the first goal our defender lost the ball on the edge of the box and then the second goal we weren’t picking up.

“Sipho Mngomezulu who just joined from Swallows spoke to us saying that the difference from the NFD is that in the PSL if you make a mistake it is curtains for you.”
