Mhlongo: Fatigue won't stop Pirates

Johannesburg - Despite their hectic schedule during pre-season, Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo believes that fatigue would not play any part in hindering the Soweto giants success in the upcoming 2015/16 Absa Premiership campaign.

The Buccaneers did not get any rest in the off-season break due to their involvement in the CAF Confederation Cup and tonight will kick-off their domestic season with an MTN8 quarterfinal fixture against Ajax Cape Town at the Orlando stadium.

The 24-year-old shot stopper believes that fatigue is just a psychological game and the Happy People are fully focused and prepared to soldier on despite all the odds.

"Obviously fatigue will start creeping in as the season goes by... but I believe that everyone in the team is professional enough to understand that this is our job," said Mhlongo.

"So it’s all about the psychological game right now and if we are strong enough we’ll definitely pull through. So hence I always say that chances are furthered by the prepared minds only.

"So I believe that if we always go to our games fully focused and prepared, then I don’t see anything stopping us.

"Whether there is fatigue or not, nothing will stop us."

Kick-off is at 19:30.
