Mhlongo: Belief is key

Cape Town - Brighton Mhlongo has hailed his Orlando Pirates teammates for their courageous 1-0 victory away to AC Leopards in the opening Group B clash of the CAF Confederations Cup.

The Buccaneers began their quest for continental glory with maximum points, with Happy Jele netting the only goal of the Denis Sassou Nguesso Stadium encounter on Saturday.

And, after arriving back in South Africa this week, Mhlongo was full of praise for his side, while also admitting personal delight after keeping a clean sheet.

"We believe in ourselves. We are playing all over Africa in different conditions but we have been doing very well because we believe in ourselves," Mhlongo told Soccer Laduma.

"We believe in each other and no matter who plays we have the ability to play as a team and win."
