“Last year around this time, it was all smiles and laughter, we must get that back,” said the 30-year-old defender.

According to KickOff.com, Mere rued his side's defensive lapses this season and admitted that his team were conceding far too many goals especially after an excellent 2013/14 season which saw the side lift two trophies.

“We have yet another two-week break and we will utilize this one to the best of our advantage.” said Mere, who wants to see his side push on up the league.

“We must redeem ourselves and get back what belongs to us, which is victory.”

Mere hopes his side can break into the top five before the PSL enjoys its December break.

Platinum Stars dropped down into 10th position, with seven points after six games,  on the PSL table after losing 3-1 to a rejuvenated SuperSport United side.

However, Stars are only four points away from breaking into the top five with Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits lying in fifth spot with 10 points.

Dikwena’s next PSL opponents are 14th placed University of Pretoria. The teams will meet at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Sunday, September 28 at 15:00.
