McGregor: Khune has all the experience

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs legend Shane McGregor said it always good to have a goalkeeper that knows his position in the team and pays attention to detail.

McGregor praised Itumeleng Khune for being a quality goalkeeper and great asset to the Sowetan side.

The 51-year-old says the decision to lure Khune back to Naturena will prove to be pivotal for Amakhosi.

“It always makes a huge difference having a brilliant goalkeeper, who pays attention to detail and knows his box very well and studies the direction of the ball from every angle," he told Sport24.

“Having said that, Khune is one of the quality goalkeepers we have been gifted with.

“He is one of the older guys in the team, he’s been with the time for a long while before and he knows the expectations.

“I am not saying the other goalkeepers are not of that calibre but it’s great to know that he is back with his team, right where he belongs.

“He does make a difference in the team and I know how much he has to offer and it will do well for the team as well as the season progresses.”
