Mbesuma delighted with victory

Mbombela - Mpumalanga Black Aces striker Collins Mbesuma said he was delighted to beat his former team, Orlando Pirates, on Monday night.

The Zambian international was on target as AmaZayoni humbled the Buccaneers 2-1 in their Absa Premiership encounter at the Mbombela Stadium.

Mabhuti Khenyeza scored the winning goal from the penalty spot in the closing stages of the game.

The 30-year-old goal poacher hinted that his ambition is to find the back of the net in every match he features, regardless of who he plays against.

“It was a difficult game of football,” said Mbesuma.

“Playing against your former team is always a motivation to do something special.

“I have enjoyed the game and at least we managed to get the three points.

“As a striker I want to score goals in every game I play and it doesn’t matter who it might be against.

“My main aim is to get in to the scoresheet.”

Victory for Aces took them to a second spot on the log, trailing run-away leaders, Kaizer Chiefs, by nine points.

The Amakhosi will be looking to increase their lead when they face struggling Moroka Swallows at the Dobsonville stadium on Wednesday.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
