Cape Town - Golden Arrows goalkeeper Maximilian Mbaeva said his team was hungrier for the result during the 2-0 victory against Orlando Pirates.
Ahead of the trip to Orlando, the Durban club had beaten SuperSport United 2-1 in Pretoria and the incentive to get six points in consecutive fixtures away from home was high.
The victory also consolidated Arrows' position among the top eight in the league. There was a lot to play for and the rewards were plentiful.
"Today we showed we wanted to win, we are very happy to take six points away from home," Mbaeva said after the match.
"Today we were very excited to come out against a big team. When playing a big team you want to show your best, it is encouragement in itself. No-one has to encourage you.
"I am very happy, today we played our usual football."
