Mayambela: I’ll do it for Shakes

Cape Town - Mark Mayambela says that the passing of Shakes Kungwane was particularly difficult for him and he hopes to show thanks to his mentor by playing well for Chippa United.

Mayambela is back in the PSL after spending time abroad playing for Swedish side Djurgardens and he spoke to Sport24 about the difficulty of coming to terms with Kungwane’s death while he was away from home.

“Personally it did effect the way I felt about being abroad,” ‘Professor’ said.

“I think he is one of the people that believed in me when no one else did, and I wish he was around just to thank him for everything, and the support he showed, and I can only do well for Chippa United just to thank him.”

Mayambela was unveiled as a Chippa United player at a press conference yesterday and has said that he is really excited to be back in the PSL.
