Cape Town - Experienced centre-back Matthew Booth has officially joined Premier Soccer League club, Wits, ahead of the 2013/14 season.
According to the Soccer Laduma website, the finer details of the contract have not yet been revealed, however it is believed that the 36-year-old has agreed to a one-year deal, with an option to renew for a further year thereafter.
Booth's agent, Paul Mitchell, confirmed that the player had signed a deal with Gavin Hunt's side.
“Yes, it’s all sorted. He has signed and is now a Wits player," said Mitchell.
Booth, who represented Bafana Bafana 37 times, recently informed Ajax Cape Town that he would not be signing an extension to his contract, instead opting to return to Johannesburg for family reasons.
He made 40 appearances for Ajax over the last two seasons, scoring five goals.
