Masuku wants to score goals

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates prodigy Menzi Masuku reveals he wants to become an effective goal-scoring midfielder after an impressive start to the season.

Masuku shot to fame at the end of last season with some attention-grabbing performances and has continued in the same vein this term.

The 22-year-old attacker aims to not only create scoring opportunities for his teammates but also contribute by finding the back of the net on a regular basis.

"Scoring goals is something that I was taught when I was young. Coming from Jazzy Queen's academy, he taught me that when playing as an attacking midfielder it is very important to score goals," Masuku told Soccer Laduma.

"He always told me that I shouldn't only concentrate on creating goals, but should also score goals.

"I am a big fan of Lionel Messi and I look up to him. He also plays as an attacking midfielder and his goal-scoring prowess is something out of this world."

Orlando Pirates take on Polokwane City at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday, September 22.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
