Masilela was a key feature in Amakhosi's record-breaking season that saw the club claim both the Premiership and MTN8 titles.
The Players' Player of the Season award is determined by votes from the Chiefs squad, and the defender was delighted to be acknowledged by his colleagues.
"Yeah, it's a special award when all your teammates vote for you to be Players' Player of the Season but, to be honest, we are all Players' Player of the Season," Masilela told KickOff.
"Everyone played their part, I and everyone contributed. It's been a great season for all the Kaizer Chiefs family and the award is just a cherry on top."
Masilela said he has no regrets about returning to South Africa after several injuries hampered his career overseas.
"Yes, it was worth it to come back and play for one of the biggest clubs in Africa.”
