Mashego eyeing TKO semis

Pretoria - Mamelodi Sundowns striker Katlego Mashego has said the Brazilians need to be in good form before hosting AmaZulu in the Telkom Knock-Out quarter-finals, if they want to advance to the next stage.

The Pretoria giants will host the PSL strugglers in the last eight of the Ziwa Mo competition in three weeks’ time.

Despite Usuthu’s poor start to the 2014/15 campaign, 'Mahoota' believes his teammates do not need to underestimate their opponent if they intend to reach the semi-final stage of the competition.

"It’s going to be a difficult game for us against AmaZulu," said Mashego.

"We need to prepare ourselves a lot for them if we really want to beat them.

"That am so sure about and we want to go to the semi-finals of this competition.

"So we must first do our homework and hopefully it will work out well for us."

Sundowns defeated their arch rivals, University of Pretoria, to book a place in the last eight with a 2-1 defeat over the weekend.

Elias Pelembe and Themba Zwane strikes were sufficient to claim the spot in the next round.

The venue and time for their clash against AmaZulu is yet to be confirmed.
