Cape Town - Kaizers Chiefs captain Tefu Mashamaite said his players needed to put the 1-0 defeat against Maritzburg United behind them and focus on the next assignment.

“It will not be an easy match, we will have to go out there prepared and put everything behind us (Maritzburg defeat), and just focus on the game at hand," Mashamaite told Supersport TV.
Chiefs still have an eight-point cushion in the Premiership standings but defeat against the old foe on Wednesday could see that lead chopped to just five with seven matches left in the season.
While it is true that Chiefs still have title aspirations in the Nedbank Cup and CAF Championship League, the focus this week can only be on collecting maximum points against the Dube Birds.
"If you want to eat the elephant you must eat piece by piece," said Mashamaite.
"We have the obligation to continue inspiring the nation and so we are taking every match very seriously."
Chiefs have recorded just one win in their last five Premiership matches, which is somewhat startling, given the start that the club had this season.
Many of the clubs they have played against in 2015 have been fighting their own little battles within the league and Wednesday night will be no different in this regard, as Swallows are desperate to move out of the dreaded relegation zone. Mashamaite knows that this will be a difficult match indeed.
"We must push for the maximum points. If we want to win the league we must continue collecting points," added Mashamaite.
The clash will be played at the Dobsonville Stadium kick-off at 19:30.
