Masenamela: I have to fight for my place

Cape Town - Newly-signed Polokwane City left back Punch Masenamela has said that he knows that he won't just walk into the starting eleven at the club.

He said that he knows that the team has other players already playing in that position at the team, and that he has to fight hard to claim his place in the starting line-up.

"It doesn't mean that because I have joined the team from another team it means that I will just walk into the first eleven," the former Mamelodi Sundowns defender said.

“I have to work hard to play ahead of other players who are already here.

“I am glad that Polokwane City management have given me this chance to join the team.”

Apart from Sundowns, Masenamela has also played for Kaizer Chiefs and spent the second half of this past season on loan at Platinum Stars.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
