Cape Town - Mandla Masango looks set to take a dramatic u-turn as reports suggest the diminutive midfielder is set to re-sign with Kaizer Chiefs.
After failed negotiations with the player's former agent Walter Mokoena due to exorbitant wage demands, Amakhosi agreed to let the player depart Naturena at the end of the 2014/15 campaign, along with a host of players, including Itumeleng Khune and Tefu Mashamaite.
Masango, who enjoyed a breakout season during Stuart Baxter's title-winning campaign, scored seven goals as Chiefs earned a Absa Premiership and MTN8 double, and reportedly attracted the interests of French Ligue 1 side, Rennes, during the January transfer window.
After it was confirmed that he would be released by Chiefs, the former Platinum Stars trainee was linked with a move to Mamelodi Sundowns, while Mpumalanga Black Aces coach Muhsin Ertugral was keen to reunite with the player whom he signed for Kaizer Chiefs back in 2007.
However, with Pitso Mosimane having a plethora of midfield options at Sundowns and the news of MP Black Aces' PSL status being acquired by relegated AmaZulu, it seems Masango is headed back to the Glamour Boys with his tail between his legs.
