Marques leaves Leopards on good terms

Cape Town - Zeca Marques made the decision to step down from the position of head coach at Black Leopards due to family reason and not club-related issues according to some media reports.

He states that he needed to go spend more time with his family as it was becoming stressful but stresses the amount of respect he has for the owner, Mr Thidiela.

“The travelling was getting too much for the family,” he told Sport24.

“I’m based there (Thohoyandou) and my wife is based in Joburg.

“Basically it was getting too much, as she had to always travel up and down.

“This type of stress was starting to affect me a lot. I really enjoyed my stay at Leopards, it was a great experience.

“I left with no animosity, the respect I have for Mr Thidiela is very high.

“I made the call to leave now rather than later which gives them more time to prepare”

Zeca Marques joined the club in January and led them to the promotion playoffs, but lost out to Jomo Cosmos for a spot in the PSL.
