Cape Town - Maritzburg United chairman Farook Kadodia has revealed there is a lengthy queue of potential candidates to replace departed coach Steve Komphela, and says he hopes to fill the vacancy by the end of the month.

The Team of Choice announced the departure of Komphela earlier this week, with the coach then unveiled as the new Kaizer Chiefs boss on Wednesday.
Kadodia says that applications have been pouring in from South Africa and beyond the borders ever since the news was first revealed on Monday.
"We can't give any names, but there are a lot of enquiries coming through, from both locally and internationally," he said.
"We have to scrutinise all the CVs we receive at the moment. We will decide what's best for our club."
Kadodia also confirmed that he will not be tapping up any coaches for the role, as was done to his former coach Komphela on several occasions by other clubs during his 18-month stint in Pietermaritzburg.
"We're not going to head hunt and disturb another clubs by taking a coach out of employment," he added.
"We have to look at both local and foreign-based coaches to see exactly who is the best for the job.
"With the type of set-up we have here, we have to really apply our minds to see who is the best guy that fits the role."
Assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi has been placed in temporary charge and led the squad when they began pre-season training earlier this week.
