Johannesburg - Two goals in the final few minutes took Maritzburg United to third in the PSL standings as they edged 10-man Moroka Swallows 3-1 on Saturday evening.

Cuthbert Malajila put the Team of Choice ahead after 18 minutes, although Gilbert Mapemba was able to respond for the hosts eight minutes later.

However, the Dube Birds' full-back soon turned from hero to villain as he received a straight red card for a dangerous challenge on Ruben Cloete.

Terrence Mandaza then went on to head the visitors back in front with three minutes remaining, while Frank Gyamfi put the game beyond all doubt in injury-time as he fired home from the edge of the area.

Zeca Marques' men finished the day 10th in the standings with 14 points from 12 games, while Maritzburg went three points behind Orlando Pirates and a further one adrift of leaders Kaizer Chiefs.

Zeca please do the honourable thing..... you are running the team under. I personally think your job is much secured as an assistance coach. You add more value as a supporting figure. Leon Prins, the team doesn't have to be in dire straits or face relegation to make changes. Please be proactive this time.

Or else, should we remind the coach and his technical team that they won the MTN8 Cup out of Gordon Igesund's energy. Also, should we remind Zeca that he promised everyone on TV that he will win the league, after making an introspection on the wrongs and rights of the previous coach. I repeat, Gordon's energy was still there when we won the MTN8. Six games in succession without a win.....
