Manyisa set for ankle scan

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates midfielder Oupa Manyisa is set to have a scan on his ankle after he was stretchered off against Polokwane City in a Absa Premiership

According to Soccer Laduma, Manyisa picked up what looked like it could be a pretty serious injury in the 61st minute.

‘Ace’ was stretchered off from the Peter Mokaba Stadium pitch to the dismay of 'The Ghost' as Rise and Shine made the Buccaneers sweat for a 0-0 draw.

Pirates’ team doctor revealed that it seems Manyisa looked to have just sprained his ankle but will have a scan to determine the full extent of his injury.

Meanwhile, Eric Tinkler will be hoping his captain return to the Sea Robbers starting XI as they look to conquer the CAF Confederations Cup with their first of two fixtures against Egyptians giants, Al Ahly, to be played at Orlando Stadium on Saturday, September 26.

Kick-off is at 18:00.

It also seems that Bafana Bafana coach, Shakes Mashaba would have to call-up a midfielder after Manyisa was in his 25-man squad to take on Costa Rica and Honduras in early October.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
