Cape Town - Orlando Pirates caretaker coach Eric Tinkler has opened up on the Oupa Manyisa transfer saga surrounding the club and the player.

The most talked about transfer rumour during the January transfer window - Mamelodi Sundowns set to sign Oupa Manyisa in a R30 million plus deal - failed to materialise.

All eyes were on Sundowns awaiting confirmation of the much-publicised deal taking Orlando Pirates captain to Chloorkop.

Now, following the conclusion of the transfer window, Orlando Pirates coach Eric Tinkler has decided to weigh in on Manyisa transfer issue.

According to KickOff, Tinkler reiterated that Oupa Manyisa was not on the verge of swapping the black and white of Pirates for the yellow and green of Mamelodi Sundowns.

"This talk of Oupa leaving was generated and fuelled by people who are not at this club. I don't listen to that stuff,” said Tinkler.

"Oupa Manyisa is a Pirates player. He is at home relaxing, as a Pirates player. He will be back on Sunday, as a Pirate.

"Oupa and Thabo Matlaba will be considered versus AmaZulu. They won't lose fitness in a few days. They're national players."
