Manqele: Komphela knows me

Cape Town - Edward Manqele admits he is thrilled to have completed his move to Kaizer Chiefs, and believes Steve Komphela is just the man to reignite his career.

The striker was initially courted by the Glamour Boys back in 2012 but was instead snapped up by Mamelodi Sundowns, where an unproductive stint led to a loan move to Moroka Swallows and another failed spell with Chippa United.

However, Manqele finally made the move to the gold half of Soweto after penning a three-year deal, which will see him reunite with Komphela after the pair previously worked together at Free State Stars.

And, the forward is hoping his time in Naturena can help revive the previous form which first alerted Chiefs.

"I am happy to be here and will give my best to the team. I worked with coach Komphela before," he told Kaizer Chiefs website.

"I did wonders under him. The coach knows me very well and I am happy to be reunited with him."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
