Makola: Quality in depth will help

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates midfielder Mpho Makola believes that Eric Tinkler’s side has quality in depth which will help them in their quest to advance from the CAF Confederation Cup group stages.

Makola felt that the 2-1 home loss to Zamalek did not reflect the quality performance that his teammates put in and he says that they are eager to put that behind them as they travel to Tunisia to take on CS Sfaxien on Sunday.

“We can do ourselves justice after that loss in the end against Zamalek where we threw the three points away,” he tells Sport24.

“We have been playing well as a team and with the players who have not played regularly, every time they came in for players with suspensions or injuries they raised their hands that is why we have been doing well in this competition.

“Whoever is playing on the day will do the job because we have one task at hand and our minds are all focused on one thing,” Makola concluded.

Pirates face Sfaxien on Sunday at 21:15 (SA time).

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
