Mahlangu on Chiefs' radar?

Cape Town - Bafana Bafana midfielder May Mahlangu could be on his way to the Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs after stating he's looking for a new challenge in his career.

Mahlangu’s contract with his Swedish club Helsingborg IF expired at the end of last year as the talented playmaker missed out on the latter part of the season while nursing an Achilles tendon injury.

The 24-year-old midfielder is not part of the Bafana squad for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) currently on the go, but he is training with the team in Cape Town as part of his rehabilitation.

Mahlangu’s former mentor at the Stars of Africa Academy, Farouk Khan, told the Kickoff website that the player is looking forward to a move - and it will not be surprising to see him playing for one of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) giants.

Mahlangu was voted Swedish Player of the year back in the 2011/12 season.

Mahlangu was part of the Bafana squad which hosted the 2013 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
