Cape Town - Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane admitted he thought about leaving Mpumalanga Black Aces during the off season after the club tried to sell its Premiership status to AmaZulu.
Aces had agreed a deal to sell their PSL status to AmaZulu, who were relegated last season, and the 27-year-old was not happy about the possibility of not playing in South Africa's top club competition.
However, the deal was block by the PSL who ruled against it going through and Aces maintained their Premiership status.
Mabokgwane also admitted that it was normal for their to be transfer speculation around players who are in good form.
"Well it is not primarily because the club was going to be sold," he told goal.com.
"When the transfer window is open and one is doing well, there is always that possibility of a move happening irrespective if the club is going to be sold or not.
"So yes, the thought did cross my mind because of the situation. And maybe that also spiked things up and influenced my thinking. But in the end, we are now all glad it didn't happen; and we are now all focused and looking forward to the new season."
