MTN8 loss forgotten - Manyisa

Johannesburg - Oupa Manyisa insists that the Orlando Pirates’ loss to Kaizer Chiefs in the MTN8 Final is now water under the bridge.

As it happened: Kaizer Chiefs v Orlando Pirates

The midfielder admits to the clubs’ website that no doubt it hurts but they will have to move on.

“There is no use in thinking about the loss over and over, because we must move on.”

“It was a bad result – they played their game and won the match – we have more matches to play so, we must focus now and try to win things again.”

Manyisa makes note that Pirates will shift their focus to league now as they travel to Port Elizabeth to face Chippa United

“The league is here, we will fight for another final and as you know, we play to win everything, even though sometimes we don’t win.”

In head-to-head stats, Chippa and Pirates have met in just two previous league matches. Both of those encounters took place in the 2012/13 season.

The Chilli Boys claimed four points, drawing 0-0 in Cape Town before a 1-0 win in the return match in Soweto.

Kick-off is at 15:00 on Saturday, September 27. The game will be held at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
