Lucky 'disappointed' by draw

2012-12-11 10:06

Johannesburg - Lucky Lekgwathi admits he was disappointed to see Orlando Pirates not come away from the Soweto derby with all three points following the 1-1 draw against Kaizer Chiefs.

According to football411.com website, the result left the Buccaneers trailing their bitter rivals and PSL leaders Chiefs by three points, while also allowing Platinum Stars to go level on points in second place.

Speaking after the encounter, Pirates captain Lekgwathi told his club's official website: "You have to understand that we needed this match more than anybody else.

"We were playing at home and I think we had the game under control in some stages but unfortunately we failed to score more goals."

He added: "Overall, both teams created a lot of chances but since we got our goal first I'm disappointed that we were unable to keep our lead.

"The supporters will probably be okay with that (draw) because we did not lose the game and no supporters will have more bragging rights than the others going into Christmas, so, from that perspective I guess they could be happy but for me, I think we could have done a little more.

"The game is now gone and we will look forward to the next match. It is a must win for us and we will do all we can to win that match."

ther is nothng amazing with chiefs, thery havnt won anythng 2 sho, yet they brag with that draw as if they are the champions, PIRATES ARE THE CHAMPIONS..!

Captain, our midfield and strikers did everything to give us an early break but the defense let us down. Luck you need to understand that you can't blame the lack of goals and not stand by the fact our defense was ball watching instead of closing the man.

We're also disappointed my Captain, but the Zebos must know that we're the Champs and they're a bunch of "nobodies". So, they need to attack us for them to challenge for the championship. They can't be screaming around celebrating a draw. Come second half we'll will this fixture against them and go all the way to win the 5th ABSA PSL Championship, while they're busy bragging about this draw and their Q1 innovation.

Lucky I am as disappointed as u r but my unbreakable bucs have to learn to score goals and they don't have to worry much about the 12th and 13th men on the pitch but to try and win games. Up The Bucs Once and Always!
