Cape Town - Newly appointed Golden Arrows coach, Sarame Letsoaka, insisted that it was time for him to take a PSL head coaching role, despite many football analysts bemoaning the fact that Shaun Bartlett was axed.
Letsoaka is back in the country after being in New Zealand for the Under-20 World Cup and took the time to speak to Sport24 about his appointment.
“When the announcement was made I was outside the country and I know a lot of people wanted to talk to me,” said the former Bafana assistant coach.
Letsoaka was very diplomatic when asked whether or not he felt aggrieved at the fact that much of the media attention has been critical of Bartlett’s dismissal, and little has been encouraging about his appointment.
“I only came back on Sunday so I haven’t really been following what is happening because I was quite busy with the under-20 World Cup in New Zealand.
“I have been an assistant coach for quite some time now and I think that I have earned my grade at that level and it was time that I moved to a PSL team,” Letsoaka said.
