Johannesburg - An 88th minute Mongezi Bobe winner gave hosts Black Leopards a valuable 1-0 victory in their Premiership match against SuperSport United at Giyani Stadium on Tuesday.
With the match goalless heading into injury time, it was the intervention of Bobe that wrested the three points for the relegation favourites Leopards.
Bobe received the ball and buried the shot into the middle of goal, which had the beating of Ronwen Williams in the SuperSport goal.
In the first half, both sides were unable to mount serious challenges on goal.
In the second period SuperSport coach Gavin Hunt rang the changes, bringing on Bryce Moon and Thabo September, but it failed to bring dividends.
Seven minutes after the break the visitors were close to opening the scoring. Franklyn Cale's inswinging corner found Mame Niang and his header attempt from close range went just over the crossbar.
Leopards, routed to the bottom of the table before the game, with the three points at home nudge ahead of Jomo Cosmos.
SuperSport now have won just one of their last seven league matches.
The hosts have 14 points after 19 games this season, while SuperSport stay in fourth, but have three teams snapping at their heels with 32 points.
