Polokwane - Ahead of their crucial PSL promotion/relegation playoff clash, Polokwane City head coach Boebie Solomons said Black Leopards are a good side and his charges will not underestimate their opponents.
The two sides will battle for a top playoff position in the much anticipated Limpopo derby at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday night.
Heading into the encounter, Lidoda Duvha are coming off a 2-1 triumph over Cape Town side Milano United, while City and United shared the spoils in the Mother City last week.
Solomons revealed that his troops will not be intimidated by Leopards’ style of play.
“Leopards are a good side,” Solomons told reporters during a press conference.
“I have been watching a lot of their games in the NFD and I also watched them play against Milano United.
“We must give them all the respect they deserve.
“They go forward all the time. They play quick football.
“But we want to play our own style of football at our home ground and we always do well playing at home.”
The former Santos coach also admitted that Wednesday night’s game is of utmost importance to them and they’ll be looking to make amends for their goal-scoring errors as their main objective is to compete in the PSL next season.
“It’s very vital for us. We have been playing very well.
“We made slip ups and now we need to up our game and improve on our finishing touches in front of goal.
“Our aim is to retain our PSL status,” added Solomons.
Kick-off is at 19:30.
