Cape Town - The curtain on Orlando Pirates defender Lucky Lekgwathi's career seems likely to fall without a further kick of the ball from the veteran defender.

The latest injury update on Orlando Pirates defender Lucky Lekgwathi would indicate that the stalwart is unlikely to feature in Orlando Pirates remaining fixtures this season.

The Sea Robbers are due to face Maritzburg United on Wednesday and Ajax Cape Town on the final day of the season on Saturday.

While Legkwathi disclosed that he is "back doing light training", the defender said "the ankle has been giving me some problems", according to KickOff.com.

Legkwathi declined to discuss his future saying "And for now I would prefer not to comment about my future in football”.

According to Legkwathi's profile on the Orlando Pirates website, "The experienced campaigner is in his last season with the club." meaning that Lekgwathi is likely to finish his last season at Orlando Pirates without making one appearance for the club in the current season.

Legkwathi has 13 Bafana Bafana caps to his name.
