Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Lebese believes he is a skilful player but in a different way to players who perform tricks to wow the crowd.
The new Absa Premiership season is underway and headlines have been dominated by the debate around the usefulness of tricks by skillful players, such as Thabo Rakhale, which some see as nothing more than showboating.
Lebese revealed he is confident that he is also a skilful player, but not in the same sense that players such as Rakhale and Masibusane Zongo are considered.
"I would not compare myself with them, they are very skilful and I think I'm skilful too but we play differently," Lebese told KickOff.
"I'm the type of player that wants to contribute to the team in terms of getting goals and going forward and assisting in goals.
"It is exciting for the fans, but I would like to contribute as much for the team in winning games," he added.
The 26-year-old scored twice in Chiefs 5-3 win over Maritzburg United in the MTN8 quarter-final and is pleased with his early-season form.
Lebese and Amakhosi welcome Free State Stars to the FNB Stadium on Saturday, August 22 for a PSL encounter.
Kick-off is at 20:15.
