Bloemfontein - Bloemfontein Celtic coach, Clinton Larsen, believes new recruits, Vuyisile Wana and Lantshane Phalane, suit his team’s style of play after seeing them in training this week.
The two were the standout players in what was otherwise an ageing, underperforming Swallows team and have been handed a PSL lifeline by Larsen.
“They have settled in, they have been here over a week now and they have been accepted by all the players,” the Siwelele coach told Sport24.
“They are two quality players and we are excited to have them on board.
Larsen took the time to explain to Sport24 exactly why he decided to bring in the two players and what he hoped they would contribute to his side.
“It is two areas we identified. We were looking for a central midfielder and thought that Lantshene Phalane would bring some balance to that area. We were looking for a left-footed player and we felt that his qualities include being very good on the ball, great vision and he has a strong shot on him.
“Wana is a player that I should have signed three seasons ago when he was still at Roses. I identified him in the Vodacom playoffs but things didn’t materialise. Three years later he is back where he should be, he is a player that will fit in with our quick, skilful style of play.”
