Larsen: TKO win no fluke

Johannesburg - Bloemfontein Celtic coach Clinton Larsen is hoping to prove the side's Telkom Knockout success was no fluke by beating bitter rivals Free State Stars in the PSL on Saturday.

According to football411.com website, Phunya Sele Sele lifted the Ziwa Mo trophy last weekend after seeing off Mamelodi Sundowns 1-0 in the final, although they needed an own-goal from Thabo September in their following match to rescue a 1-1 draw against SuperSport United.

Larsen, though, is confident his charges can carry their cup form over to the PSL, and believes beating Ea Lla Koto this weekend would signal their intent for the rest of the campaign.

"It's always a battle when these two sides meet," he said. "Everybody was waiting to shoot us down after the Telkom Knockout final win and expecting us to lose our next few games, but we are going out to prove everybody wrong.

"We are not going to do what other teams have done in the past; win and then start losing games after that.

"We'll keep fighting for every point and see where that puts us by the end of December."
