Cape Town - Bloemfontein Celtic midfielder Lyle Lakay is hoping to get a permanent deal at Pretoria-based outfit Mamelodi Sundowns.
The 22-year-old is currently undergoing trials under the supervision of head coach, Pitso Mosimane, according to the Kick-Off website.
Should the deal go through, the Cape Town-born star will be part of a swap deal involving hard-working midfielder Musa Nyatama.
Celtic CEO Khumbulani Konco said Lakay is still training with Sundowns and they have not yet set a date for him to return.
Nyatama, 26, joined Phunya Sele Sele in July from the Brazilians on a season-long loan deal but could end up joining the Free State side on a permanent basis due to Lakay’s possible move in the other direction.
It remains to be seen where the two industrious midfielders will be in future.
