Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns striker Anthony Laffor admits he is far from ecstatic about his bench role this season, but insists the needs of the club far outweigh his own.
The forward has enjoyed a bright start to the campaign, scoring the winner against Ajax Cape Town last month while also setting up two goals along the way.
However, five of his six appearances this season have come off the bench, with head coach Pitso Mosimane preferring to employ the Liberia international as an impact player, and while he admits it is frustrating to be out the starting XI, Laffor is happy enough to just contribute to the team's success.
"Every player at Sundowns wants to start a game. I won't tell you that I'm happy being on the bench," he told KickOff.
"The most important thing is for me to work hard for the team because sometimes I will find myself coming from the bench and the most important thing is to work hard.
"I care less about me coming on as a sub or start.
"If Sundowns win all of us win and if the team lose everyone lose. The guys who are starting, we just need to encourage them no matter whether you start or coming from the bench.
"I'm happy with the way things are going."
