Cape Town - Kwanda Mngonyama is set to return for a second spell at Maritzburg United on a season-long loan after demanding a transfer from Mamelodi Sundowns.
According to Soccer Laduma, the captain of the South Africa Under-23 side is expected to spend the 2015/16 campaign with the Team of Choice after Pitso Mosimane deemed him surplus to requirements at Chloorkop.
With the transfer window set to close next week, Maritzburg have moved swiftly to secure the loan move for the highly-rated defender.
Mngonyama impressed on temporary stints with Maritzburg and Bidvest Wits over the past two seasons, but with a R5m price tag placed on his head, potential suitors were priced out of a deal.
SuperSport United reportedly expressed their interest in the 21-year-old prior to their move for Bongani Khumalo, but pulled out of negotiations after Sundowns demanded Jeremy Brockie in any deal involving Mngonyama.
